Quick vRS oil filter question...

Featured Replies

How do I get it out on a fab vrs? do I need a special tool?

Also does anyone know how much oil is required for a full change?

Thanks :D

I use a 32mm socket with an extension bar and rachet to remove the cap housing the oil filter. It is not that bit that bothers me it is seperating the old filter from the cap. There must be a nack to it that I haven't got!!

Anyway, I buy 5 litres of suitable engine oil - my "favourite" brand is Fuchs Titan Supersyn Plus 5-40w. It will swallow the whole 4 litre can and I just use the extra litre to make sure it is at the top of the hashed area on the dipstick and for topping up (if needed) between oil changes. I also saturate the new filter with a little oil before fitting it.

Hope this helps.

4.25 litres is about right for an oil change , make sure you change the sump plug as well , if you've got a Ford dealer nearer to you than a VAG/Skoda dealer , the Ford part number is 1250679 , Ford Galaxy PD130 oil filter

its only a VAG part in a Ford box

And do the filter before changing the oil.
