When i got my cable from ebay i got a program called vwtool.It appears to do everything that vag-comm does.

I have not got vag-com fully registered so iam getting a little lost using vwtool and woundered if anyone had any ideas how to set the throttle up after cleaning.

So far i have managed

Turn the key on but do not start the car.

• [select]
  
• [01 - Engine]
  
• [Measuring Blocks - 08]

Enter Group 060

• [Go!]
  
• [switch to basic settings

But the last bit is where i get lost????:

[switch to Meas. Blocks] button and you're all set.

there is no measuring blocks button available?:confused:

the only buttons i have are:save to file or change back to normal settings

Can you not just go into basic settings (04)?

I am a little lost .I can type any block in that i wish.This one is 060 for the throttle but will when i click on "change to basic settings" will the settings be saved on my car?

I would think so

Its is just the idle seems slightly higher than befor at about 850rpm.

VWTool hasn't been updated in more than 8 years now. It was a good software back in the 1990's, but on of the main reasons VAG-COM exists its that VWTool has all kinds of problems on MY 2000 and newer cars (and even some as old as 1998).

Thanks for letting me know.I haven't come across any probs yet but i will keep looking.Its not a bad program for free though.

Not all parts of the program are free.Throttle alignment for example requires you to register/pay.Although it is handy for the autoscan although this is restricted to certain parts of the car

The full program is free to download, just have to buy the propper interface.

Afraid i have shallow pockets but i hope you put you posh new cable to use.There are many needy people on this forum:D
