Fabia 2.0 - Cranks but won't start. HELP!

Featured Replies

Anyone got any ideas on this ?

- Cranks away but won't start

- Parked most of the last week unused (on a slope)

- Refuelled this morning (definitely unleaded!) and drove normally 3 miles home

Is it 'flooded' ? Any ideas ?

HELP !

are you getting any warning lights up on the dash??

i would guess it's immobilizer related

Immobiliser troubles will usually let it fire very briefly, then stop.

When you turn the ignition on, does the fuel pump run?

Recovery agent came out and he checked the fuel pump fuse first but all fuses on the side of the dash were ok. He disconnected and reconnected the fuel pump plug under the rear seat and said that the fuel pump was then definitely priming / running (smelt fuel ok in engine bay).

Removed coil 'pack' and said it looked like there was no spark / ignition.

BIG Question - does the 2.0 Fabia have one coil pack - I know all about the 1.8T issues (used to have remapped 4x4) ?

Its my parents' car who are visiting form up north and I know dealers are normally busy after a weekend.... so if it was something as simple as that is it worth buying one and refitting ?

Any other suggestions

HELP ?!

One coil pack but it gets a signal from the crank sensor to the ECU to power it up. Any fault codes?

Agent didn't have any diagnostics kit so can't say about fault codes. Looks like I'll give them a lift home and get their car recovered locally for repair (MK) or back to a dealer near them.
