Hello everyone. Ive just bought an 04 Fabia VRS :) and am very happy with it so far (3 days in!)

It seems to be a brilliant little car!

and here are the first set of questions...

1. how do I know if I have a QG0, QG1 or QG2 car, its the (seemingly) frequent oil question rearing its ugly head, along with someother stuff that the haynes manual yabbers on about. The big long set of numbers in the front of my service schedule has a QG0 in it (bottom right corner of the block) but I cant find anything to confirm this in any of the other suggested places

2. how do I know if I have side air bags in the front seats?? was thinking of getting covers to save the nice white bits on the seats, and dont want to blow myself up if the worst happens!!

3. my car has done 20K, and has had skoda servicing done on a time basis and not on mileage (one service only covered 5k worth of driving!) I was told that the next service would need to include the cambelt. Haynes says 60k, and I would expect to do it at around 50k, do I need it doing so soon?

4. Skoda Southampton said that the cam belt service would cost

And another thing. What does VRS mean?? I can guess but...

1. dunno:O

2. it will have a little panel on the side of the seat with airbag written on it

3. i think that was revised to 40k or every 4 years whichever is soonest

4. that is about right for parts and labour.

hello and welcome
