Hello!

My first post on this forum - currently driving a Peugeot 307 HDI, this is a company car due for replacement in August. This time I was given a budget and told to choose my own car (rather than have it decided for me as in previous times). First looked at the VW Golf Match, but with a new baby decided we needed more room. So the Octavia 1.9 TDI Estate it is! Found a good deal after much searching online, some 10% lower than anyone else and managed to get the Elegance spec. Now ordered and due for 10th August (that's when the old car goes back and I need the new one!).

Plumped for the manual, but could have gone for the Ambiente with DSG. Do a lot of town driving, so thought I would try to get an auto, but was swayed by the better equipment level of the Elegance and the mixed reviews on the DSG. Will see how the manual goes, and in 3 years, who knows, may go for a DSG next time, but will make sure I get a test drive first.
