Anyone gone from AMD 1 Click or similar to a custom map?

Featured Replies

Just wondering as I don't think the AMD remap that some of us bought on a group buy a while back is particularly good. Indeed, there doesn't appear to be that much difference between the std map and the AMD one in performance terms when I switch them.

I'm tempted to get a Jabbasport custom remap done sometime. Any thoughts?

My 1 click does make a difference, specially 30 - xxx acceleration, and i see this on the motorway runs i do.

Jabba come with some good recommendations, I wish I had done this ( a peronalised remap.)

I've been through something fairly similiar. As in, I sold my vRS that I ran with One-Click, and later bought an Ibiza TDi Sport PD130, which had a Superchips remap.

The difference was very noticeable. A much smoother power/torque curve, and despite pushing more power than One-Click, I didn't experience clutch slip like I had with AMD.

A custom remap wins everytime, so I'd recommend you pay Jabba a visit :thumbup:

As you're in Sussex, you might want to get in touch with Impossible ;)

Thanks for the advice.

Never noticed clutch slip on the VRS. I certainly noticed a major improvement in grunt when it was first fitted, but the difference seems marginal now - in fact I tested in-gear times and there seemed precious little difference on the motorway.

I've vaguely heard of them, Chris. Though come to think of it, we are probably best off waiting until the manufacturers warranty expires, whcih will be next summer.

I may be so bold as to say you're not trying hard enough, with the One Click 'performance' map loaded :P

lol - thanks, but I do know which one the throttle is, mate!! Surprised that you would get clutch slip on only 275lb torque - if that's the case, it's a different clutch to the one in my Elise, which I am told can cope with 400...

I know someone who went from an AMD generic map to an AMD custom map still with the One Click.

It does exactly what you have said it needs to do;

It's a shame they no longer exist in the same way they used to :(
