Accident

Featured Replies

My precious Furby vRS had a bump not long ago and most of the front end plastic need replacing which is quite expensive.

My question is this:

Having never made a claim and having full protected no-claims, as the claim is an own fault, will the premium just go up next year by the annual insurance inflation or do they adjust it and hike it?

Just wondered as the damage has increased to about

It'll be down to the insurance company, but chances are it'll go up a bit (as you're now a higher risk to them)....

One way to find out would be to run some quotes through confused.com with and without the accident and see what the trend is :D

Chris

my insurance went up approx

... i can't do what ScoobyChris says with regards to getting quotes off confused.com as i don't know how much my accident cost in total , so the site can't do me a quote

I've come across that before (i.e. not knowing the cost of repairs). Now, when I've had to put the car into an appointed bodyshop, I ask for a copy of the bill from them. Most should have a record, so ought to be able to tell you the amount of their charge to the insurer.

Mo

One important thing to remember is that protected no-claims, just protects the discount (ie. 60%). If you make a claim your premium (before discount) will normally increase. Therefore you will result in paying more for your insurance.
