Test Driven A Suzuki Swift

Featured Replies

Just driven a Swift 1.5 GLX because with the high cost of the new Fabia I thought it would be to much to buy.

Nice car to drive but with no boot/storage and the cheap dials/switches I will be going for the Fabia ( but will have to take a test drive to confirm it). The big plus of the day was that the dealer quoted me

We couldn't wait for the nrew fabia as the wifes four year old Fabia 1.4 16v was getting too unreliable!! Spending too much time at Robert Eardleys ( excellant dealer) having various failed suspension components replaced at much cost! After much viewing and testing we purchased a swift 1.5 GLX last oct. It has been brilliant ( i agree with lack of boot space though) and i dont feel you can get a car that is so much fun for

Bradfordfabia, I have the same question... swift of fabia. Here is my take...

Plus for fabia 2 1.2 12v : Build quality, more space, Aux input for mp3. Better residuals.

Negatives for fabia 2 1.2 12v: Engine does not meet claimed fuel consumption. Wavy pattern seats.

Plus for 1.5 GLX swift : Better performance.

Negatives for 1.5 GLX swift : Engine does not meet claimed fuel consumption, nowhere near as much fun as the Swift Sport. No aux input for Mp3. Worse build quality.

Both available with around 500-800 discount.

So, I think Fabia wins... just. Would be happy with either on my drive.

The Swift performance is v.good with the VVT.
