Sorry if this`s been done before, but i searched to no avail.

What`s the best alarm / immobilser (cat1) OR cat2 upgrade for the cash?

I`m thinking along the lines of Toad, Clifford etc....... Or are these overpriced for the job? Will a cheaper one do the same job?

What are peoples experiences of various alarms?

In my experience, you can't beat the Clifford Concept range Thatcham Cat 2 refers to the immobiliser part and Cat 1 refers to the alarm part (but AFAIK, also includes Cat 2). Make sure you get a Thatcham approved Cat 1 alarm and I think if you go to the Thatcham website (http://www.thatcham.org/) they have a list of their approved alarms in each category and I would think one of these would be adequate, unless there was any particular features you wanted.

i'm having a meta fitted to my car next week that uses the original remote instead of a seperate fob, it's also thatham cat 1 an d costs about
