I realise this has been discussed quite a lot but I still havn't found a resolution. The other half has a new mini and the "cat vision" lights really look good.

Is there a "cat vision" unit available that is compatible with the vRS? ie dark grey!!! Or will it have to be a mod to the original?

Also, with people's experience, are the red LED's or the green LED's more suitable for the green dash?? My guess is green.

Red is usually more suitable for providing low level lighting in dark conditions despite having a different colour for the dash.

Red light doesn't destroy night vision as much as other colours, that's why it's used on submarines.

I'd imagine that it is 'do-able' for the Octy VRS.... my Dad installed a unit on his VW Touran, and I installed one on my old Fabia VRS...

The red went really well with the green dash lights... I'm sure a search will turn up the relevent part numbers. Regardsing installing the thing I fould this site rather useful

They're basically just there to add an ambiente glow to the cabin at nightime. They don't have a functional purpose really (although you can see some things in the cabin that you would otherwise need to switch on the interior lights on to see). However, they do make the cabin a more pleasant place to be at night time.

I had my own version of cat-vision in both my Passat and my Fabia, debating it in my Octy though.

I am assured by another forum member (Simon_Sheil) that the Superb light unit should fit, and will thus have matching green lights. I heven't looked though, so can't comment.

I know he has a Passat W8 light unit in his Mk 1 Octy, and that fits fine.

Passat W8, Superb, MkI and MkII Octavia's all share the same shape interior light fitting so no problems there. A little wiring jiggery pokery might be in order though:rolleyes:

I have the cat vision on my Superb and OEM the factory fit is red, not green.

I changed my light to superbs one. (perfect match to my interior color)

It has red leds for light and backgroung light for buttons are green.

Fitment was a bit tight, but there is room to bend the connector to point

upwards, and then sunglass holder will open too.

does the superb have a light with sunroof that could be used on an octy with sunroof?
