Wash wipe on the blink

Featured Replies

On my octy combi (T reg) the rear wiper has started to play up, if you push the stalk back to wash the screen it will work fine, however if you release it to leave the wiper working intermitantly then the wiper will stop and start in random positions all round the rear window, does any one have any ideas why this could be so as it is now starting to really annoy me.

Thanks

Sounds like the motor is faulty as the park position is controlled by the motor itself.

that i was i thought initially but it works fine on continuous sweep???

I agree with Ross - I'd put my money on the motor. A duff park switch will not effect the continuous operation.

I've taken wiper motors to pieces in the past and the park switch contacts do wear out, but I've not touch a Skoda wiper though. May be worth checking that the connector onto the motor is sound.

Bought a Fabia off of them and they didnt remove the wheels to replace the front wheel bearings, left the windows open overnight and the car unlocked so nice damp interior, Greasy hand prints over the bonnet etc etc etc...

Needless to say i wouldn't let them check the tyre pressures on my car.
