Furby Vrs remap - clutch advice

Featured Replies

All, I have a remap on my furby vrs, just wondering what the consensus was on driving so not to give my standard clutch an early grave?

4th - don't accelerate too briskly below 2k rpm

5th/6th - don't accelerate too briskly below 2.5k rpm?

Change around 4k rpm?

Any advice to reduce clutch wear? ;)

Dont put your foot down until after 2.5k rpm IMO...

Better yet 3K. Looking at most dyno graphs peak torque is around 2500rpm.

I change gear at 4K and notice from 2nd to 3rd the revs drop to around 2800rpm. This might still be low for a remaped car. Better idea would be to change gear bit further past 4K. Some remap power on to 4.5Krpm.

3k? so u change down to 4th when ever you want to give it some on the motorways?

also how are you defining foot down, I assume you can still accelerate below 3k in higher gears or is that still an issue?

don't just floor the throttle , as that is just asking for trouble , build up the revs first then speed up your throttle action , the smoother the better

1st 2nd gear are not an issue if you are setting off briskly. As others have said, just keep the revs higher, use it like a petrol car in 3rd gear upwards. If you are cruising at say 70 mph in 6th, i personally change down to 4th for very brisk acceleration. (for example)
