A little buying advice please

Hi everyone,

im not actively hunting octavia vRS's at the moment, im waiting for AL to get back from his hols but something has landed in my lap so to speak

a know a guy who is selling an ex police car, its a 54 plate, with 67k on the clock and its pretty damn cheap to be fair!

what do you all know about ex police octavias, is it worth me having a look at it? i have been told there are no holes and its a very very clean looking car but before i travel 80 odd miles to have a look i thought i would ask on here and get a little advice

Skoda Scala slave cylinder locaton for 1.0 model

Is the skoda scala slave cylinder concentric and located inside the gearbox for all models, or is it just the 1.5 engine which doesn't have it on the outside of hte gearbox? I'm seeing different reports about whether the gearbox needs to be removed to check or replace it on a 1.0 litre engine.

My brand new superb has a software failure : Side assist unavailable Lane assist unavailable Front assist unavailable Travel assist unavailable Protective occupant unavailable Dynamic sign unavailable Dynamic cornering light unavailable it has only done10 miles and am told there is no fix as of yet and has been in the dealership since I picked it up 5 weeks ago. anyone else have this problem?

Neigbour with a Fabia Mk4 called me recently, his drivers door and the rear (right) passenger doors were partly open with what looked like a stainless steel rod jamming the two doors in their partly open/closed positions, to make a long story short, it was the door umbrella that apparently had shot out somehow or other and jammed the two doors, he had partially opened the back door to let his dog out I think and had let his own door partially open, or something like that. The fan for air conditioning and heater on my 2006 Octavia Mk2 L&K is not working. I have checked the fuses and they are OK. Does it have a relay that might have failed? I am hoping it is not the fan unit itself, as this seems to be peculiar to RHD models with climatronic and was discontinued by Skoda in 2022. (Part no. 1K2 820 021).

Have come to use the A/C for the first time this past week and noticed that pressing the button for the recirculating air doesn’t appear to work. Button presses but nothing happens it doesn’t light up and stays off Also through the media center doesn’t do anything, wondering if anyone has come across this before? Or is it a trip to Skoda?
