Hi all - Octavia on order...

Featured Replies

...and very excited about it.

I have driven a Ford Focus for years and this will be a major upgrade, although I read somewhere that there is some Focus DNA in the rear suspension design of the A5 chassis used for the Octavia.

I've gone for a 2.0 PD Elegance, Estate, in Flamenco Red

Welcome to the site, and congratulations!

Sounds very nice mate, especially red and estate - don't see that combo very often, good effort

Look forward to seeing pics when it arrives. Where have you ordered from, and how long's the wait?

The Octy's rear suspension (and a lot more besides) is pilfered from the MK5 Golf.

You are right we have the Focus to thank for the current generation chassis design. In so much as VW were shamed into a plagarism of sorts of the Focus multi-link trailing arms after the handling thrashing the abysmally suspended MK4 Golf received.

As I understand it, sadly for cost reasons the MK6 Golf (and MK3 Octy?) will have a cheaper and less complex suspension system :thumbdwn:

PS - Welcome to the club!

I think you mean Combi ;)

I would say it was intentional pun.

But I'd be lying
