Hesitation after turbo back exhaust install

Featured Replies

I've just fitted my turbo back exhaust today, and whilst the noise is fantastic, when the car reaches 5k RPM or higher it hesitates quite badly.

It will cut out at 5.5k, then 6k, then 6.5k one after the other.

I fitted it by myself this morning, and everything is definately fitted properly. Could it be a blown DV do you think?

I've suffered hesitation prior to the install but only doing it at 5.5K RPM.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

No need to worry now, sorted it :)

What was it?

It's the stock diverter valve. When an intake is installed it drops off boost from 5.5k onwards as you may know.

I was just worried as it was doing it several times after the magic 5.5k threshold.

I've removed my intake and put the original engine cover / air filter back on and it's stopped doing it.

I think the way around it will be the new forge replacement valve which should prevent such problems in the future.

Sounds like the widely reported fuel cut. The OEM fuel pump can't cope with the increased air flow. Would be nice to know if that is the case or if it is indeed anything to do with the DV.

Was lucky enough to have a look at the Forge DV solution on Saturday - looks very nice.
