warranty

Featured Replies

my warranty is due to run out soon so I'm thinking of getting my octy checked out to see if it needs anything replacing (under the warranty ) has anyone had this done and how much does it cost for an inspection

They will charge their hourly rate multiplied by the time it takes - probably upto an hour.

If it is due for an MOT test get it done, if nothing is picked up at leat you would have got something for your money. With this they will only check testable items.

I agree with fordfan's suggestion that you get an MOT test done early before the warranty runs out. You can get it done up to a calendar month before it is first due and the certificate will run from the due date. It is also a good idea to get a diagnostic scan done, eg with VAG-COM if you can, before the warranty runs out to see if any error codes have been logged. That is how I spotted that the Haldex ECU on my car was faulty in time to get it replaced under warranty.

Thats what i did, MOT'd it a month before and asked them to give it the once over.

Not sure if they did or not though. I had my radiator mounts replaced during the warranty period and my radiator brackets replaced a week after it expired, because of waiting fo the parts.
