intermittent beep??

Featured Replies

this is probably a daft question but it is driving me nuts:confused:

every now and then i get 3 warning "boings" like the one you get when the temperature is below 4deg

i cant seem to find any common cause and am at a loss! at times it can be repeating every few minutes driving along the motorway and then stop and not happen again for days:rolleyes:

i have only had the car a few months and i gues i am not yet fluent in fabia:P

at first i thought it was the low temp warning but now that the weather is heating up it cant be that. the car has just been in for a service and though i forgot to ask about it there were no faults found.

hopefully someone can help translate what the car is trying to tell me

Sometimes this is the cars way of telling you the ABS ECU has an intermittant fault. I experienced this a few times when turning the ignition, not heard the noise since the ABS ECU was replaced just over 2 years ago.

Initially the dealer coldn't find anything logged using normal diagnostics but apparently there is a bulletin from Skoda HQ sent to all dealers describing the problem.

Is there a warning light on the dash at the same time?

No,

no lights, no changes in the cars behavior only the boings.

nothing at all that would suggest anything.

Does your car have ABS? In the manual , it says 'If a major fault occurs in the ABS system , and audible warning signal sounds (3 peeps)' Maybe its that? I cant see anything else that gives those 3 tones , apart from the ice warning.

Oops it seems Rossm has already suggested that...

ok time to admit being a prat! :D

finaly found the cause.......

it seems my satnav uses a different warning sound for motorway cameras than all others and.....it is EXACTLY the same as the Furby "boing"

only found out as i had turned up the sound and it was distorted.

right, i'm off to stand in the corner with the "D" hat on:rolleyes:

Lol! At least that's cheaper than a new ABS module..... ;)
