Just looks like a system that interfaces between the maxidot display and the some of the on-board sensors (you may have figured that out for yourself already!) Quite a bit different from VAG-COM, then. I can see the point of knowing your turbo boost levels and oil temperatures, but battery condition and radio info seem a bit pointless for displaying on the maxidot IMO...
