Just saw your photos of your fabia, its just like mine only miles shinier, whats your secret. Is there a way that a lazy man like me can get a similar shine with little effort (apart from paying someone to do it that is) ? I got mine second-hand, its an '04 and covered in tiny scratches and chips, any advice that doesn't take hours of back breaking labour or wads of cash will be greatly appreciated, cheers, Mac.

unfortunetly there will be no quick fix to the paint damage on your car , have a look in the styling and car care section for tips/help

Do you mean the detail we did on my car - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/styling-car-care/detailing-pc-session/82197/. If so - its Island Green - not blue!

But yes - I agree there aren't really any shortcuts to getting a good finish and removing damage.

Wardy is the master, and I learnt that getting the best result is all about surface preparation (cleaning, claying, polishing, sealing etc), before applying the final wax.

Having said that, I'd had mine almost 9 months before I got round to the full detail, and during this period I started using the Collinite 476s. Just waxing won't remove swirls etc, or develop the full depth of colour, but it worked for me to give an interim look, and is relatively easy to apply after a good wash (two bucket method of course) and it does give a nice finish.

I bought my Collinite from Elite Car Care - Elite Car Care - Collinite Super Double Coat Auto Wax No. 476s - 9oz and I'm very impressed. Beading is great too....

Thanks Andy, yes that is the car i saw, soz about the colour it just looks bluey green to me but it is the most impressively shiney car i've seen (that and Wardy's ofcourse). Is there a company that will polish my car for me for a few quid?
