Battery

Featured Replies

Can you tell me how to remove the battery from a Skoda Fabia 2005, I have removed the case but cannot remove the battery. I need to get at the power steering fluid?

Ann - do not know your car but most batteries are bolted down, either with an obvious angle bar running along the top of the battery or - as I expect in your case - a bar running along the bottom of the battery. Shine a torch down the side of battery and you should see 1 or 2 bolts which need to be undone to release the battery - you will probably need a socket on an extension to reach the bolts. You should not need to completely remove the bolt, just loosen it, slide the retainer to one side and lift out the battery.

Do ensure you replace the retainer and tighten the bolt(s) when you replace the battery and make sure the battery is firmly restrained.
