Fabia 4x4?

Featured Replies

I've just brought my first Fabia. It's a 1.4 16V and goes like the clappers. What I was wondering is if it would be possible to turn the drivetrain into 4x4 by possibly using a Golf 4x4 rear axle and what would need to be done? Also do you know if I can get any springs to give better ground clearence???

Thanks Sam

Tbh, it would not be worth the hassle, it would cost thousands to make it happen, cant say there are any springs that make it higher as it isnt really something people want to do to cars!

If your looking as a fabia as a off roader, the golf 4x4 system is pretty useless, uses haldex which only uses 4wd when traction is lost.

plus the golf is a totally different platform so wouldn't even fit. Remmeber the fabia shares it's platform with the polo.

anything is possible but it would require massive amounts of work, the haldex system is not useless off road at all infact i have mine excellent on snow/ice/mud/gravel etc :)
