Shes just chopped in (read:given away) our old R-reg workhorse of a Toyota Carina E and purchased...

A Yaris SR (the 1.3, not the 1.8 unfortunately)

The shocking thing is the thing has cost her 12k.. :eek:

but her heart was set on it.. and no other car was available in the colour she wanted (mettalic blue, similar to Skodas Race Blue) and she just straight didnt want a Fabia SE despite my best efforts.

Ill do a mini-review in a week or two, but the spec on it is huge! (bloody well should be for the price!) - she doesnt even know what bluetooth is!!

Well the thing is the same colour as the Carina

considering the carina is only worth a couple of hundred quid anyway, and its got scratches, dents and dings on every panel, the 14" alloys despite the uber-high profile tyres are kurbed so much theres chunks missing.. my mum cant drive for toffee!

I cant even say its been particuarly reliable... in 91k miles its broken down twice.. one major headgasket failure, and a sensor failure, its had 2 new front wiper mechanisms, at

the 1.8 was on my shopping list, but not with the daft high prices.... thats why I can't see myself in the new fabia vRS if the standard diesels cosk

my mums just had a call to say the car wont be ready till monday..

I did think it was too good to be true to get a brand-new car ordered, delivered, PDI'ed and registered in 4 days... she only bought it on sunday!

my wifes suzuki swift came in three days i kept waiting for the phone call to say it would be late but it never came,delivered on time.
