Aircon, what could it be now then?

Featured Replies

Had no cool air from my Fabia rs a while back, thought it may need a recharge, so toddled off and had it done.

Still no cold air, I just took a guess and decided to change the evap temp sensor, for the sake of 12 quid, thought it was worth a go.

So some knuckle skin less, the sensor is in, took the car for a spin and still no chilled air.

It still changes temp from cool to hot, and all the way through the range but just doesnt get aircon cold?

Anybody any ideas?

Cheers

any codes thrown up?

My Octy vRS has the same problem at the mo, taking it into the dealers tomorrow, will let you know what they say.

If you have a VAG COM you could try resetting your flap motor.

My octy use to pump out hot air only at times, but since ressetting it, all is good.

Yeah, I'd get VAG-COM on it and check for any fault codes. I'm guessing that the regas checked for leaks and good pressure in the system?

Thanks Guys, I'm nipping to Star at the weekend anyway so will get them to read my codes off, I cleared them last night using my DPT box after fitting the sensor, but just thought I'd try the sensor first. The system has been checked for leaks and holding pressure so fingers crossed its not too expensive ;)

John, I would get your aircon checked, before mine didnt work if I ran it for a while it got cold enough to see my breath.

Cheers

My climate blows uncomfortably cold when it's chilling (I can't point a vent right at my face for any length of time).

What I have an issue with is that it doesn't go really hot when I set it full hot (but keeps me warm enough when I'm not trying to use it as a deicer).
