Milltek Downpipe Decat

Featured Replies

Anybody got one fitted? I want to listen to one on the road. Just fitted a cat back non resonated system which i found was quiet, and now itching to fit dp. Im located Grantham off A1 between Lincoln and Nottingham

I know someone who has a decat fitted to standard exhaust.

You get a lot more turbo noise overall and the it sounds like a lot more gas goes through it. It's quite nice actually ;)

I wouldn't fit one just for the sound though, there are some performance gains and also some dangers if you have a remap (Turbo spike etc)

I have been for a ride in a car with full turbo back milltec exhaust....Not all thet much of a difference to be honest! They said poerw gain was not noticable. To be honest the very slightly better sound really is not worth the buck!

You have to bare in mind at the end of the day it is a diesel and will never sound meaty like a petrol.

The turbo spools quicker and lower down the range smoothing the power out nicely.

So I have been told

We will find out on the 21st if it gives you any extra Pooer/Talk ;)

Oh, Is your friend taking the car along then? ;)

Can't help with the original downpipe issue, but on the exhaust issue, I've found whenever I've sampled any Miltek'd Fabias, it sounds a bit more 'serious' at tickover, more of a rumble. And on the move, a bit more gruff and bassey. Sounds a bit less like a diesel, to me :)

I'd like one

Yes, yes he is :D

You cat-back will most curtainly get louder. Not stupid loud, just something you can hear nicely when you boot it.

De-cat will let you hear more of the turbo wistle. Performance wise you turbo will spool up faster and you will notice it pull more to the red line.
