Flat battery - now EPC light on dash.

Featured Replies

Hi guys, im after some advice.

Two nights ago, some idiot :cool: left his lights on in the car. I used a battery pack the following night to start her up and took her for a long drive. The car is fine now in terms of starting etc. The only two downsides after this event are that....

a, the throttle isnt as smooth (probably a TB recalibration needed?)

b, the EPC light is permanently on in the dash pod.

I dont have access to VAGCOM. Can anyone offer any advice on why the EPC light has been on since the battery died.

Cheers,

Lee

EPC - Electronic Power Control

System includes

Throttle body

Throttle pedal

Brake light switch

Clutch switch

You got it in point a) I would think, when the TB looses its 12v then it looses its basic settings.

Thanks. You are a top knucklehead. (read it in the other thread - pmsl)

Can it do any damage/cause any other issues as I wont have access to vagcom again for sometime?

Cheers,

Lee

You could try leaving the ignition on for a minute (engine not running), to try and reset the throttle body.
