What about Ivory upholstery?

Featured Replies

I have been eccentric till the end (at least for my country). Not only I have ordered a FSI, but I have also put inside Ivory upholstery. The Romanians never choose light-colured interior because they are too lazy too mantain it, so they choose Onyx even if it is common. But I hate that colour. Ivory is much more elegant and gives the impression of a larger space inside the car. Even if it is a bit harder to keep it clean, I think it is worth. It's distinguishing.

I don't think light coloured interiors are that hard to maintain. I had an Audi convertible with light grey interior and it was easy to keep clean.

One of the problems with black interiors is they show up every little spek of dirt (same as black paint - as soon as you go for drive after it's been cleaned, it needs washing again!)

Also, light interiors make the inside of the car seem larger (IMHO).

I just wish car manufacturers (Skoda included) would stop assuming that black interiors are sporty and offer a light coloured option in things like the vRS.

ive got ivory leather in my car and think its great. Was very dubious about getting it at first but the look really won me over and any mess just wipes off with a micofibre. Not so sure id be brave enough to have ivory cloth with two young kids  and im gonna have to get the vax on the carpet soon to get some marks out.

much prefer the idea of the new L&K seats where you can have light seats and door cards but dark carpet.

Light coloured leather upholstery is a completely different proposition for maintenance and cleaning than light coloured fabric upholstery. Speaking from experience of having had cars with both types (different cars you understand) I can say that leather is easy because you can just wipe it clean - it's just expensive vinyl really :D . However, cleaning light coloured fabric is a bit of a 'mare.

You pays your money, etc.
