Last couple of days I've noticed a ticking sound when I start my PD TDI Octavia. There is about 3 ticks and then it is gone ... I could of sworn it wasn't there before. Though I've long since stopped hearing the "sproing" sound when you first get to about 20 mph.

Any thoughts greatfully received, its going in for a 40K service next week so I can get them to have a look if needs be.

If its a very faint ticking, it could be your flap motor going over, from the central vents.
