Anyone else find the movement from position 0 to 1 rough compared to movement to the other positions ?

I had a loan of a New Fabia the other day, the wiper stalk in those are really smooth (you barely have to touch it.)

I noticed the indicator stalk movement started to get a little sloppy after about 30,000 miles on my previous Octy II. It might be related as they most probably have the same mechanism.

My old Octy I was fine in the stalk department way past 100,000 miles, obviously they are different stalks but the new'uns may be slightly lower quality perhaps?
