temp dash light coming on when idling

Featured Replies

a couple of times after starting car and letting it idle, the temp light has come with a beeping. When it has happened the car has been on a slope. Doesn't happen on the flat, but i have to park the car on a slope at home

Should i be concerned? or is this normal? any way to avoid?

It's not the coolant level warning is it? Parked on a slope could effect that.

its red and looks like a thermometer? i thought temp, but now you mention it that wouldn't make sense as temperature is a separate needle.

Yeah I'm fairly sure it's the level warning. They are known to play up. Mine started beeping a minute or so after starting in cold weather. The sensor is in the coolant bottle. To replace it you need to change the bottle, but it's only about

I'll just check the level, if it's low i'll worry otherwise i'll just ignore it.

Just a thought, but does the level warning do double duty as oil level on start-up?
