vrs strange electric window problems.....

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on what has possessed my car.

On Friday my electric windows on my 04 Vrs started with a mind of their own. When I got out of the car and locked with remote after about 5 seconds both front windows opened by themselves. It has now done this a few times and I have resorted to removing fuses temporarily or I would never be sure windows would stay up when I am away from car.

Any clues as to what may be causing this???

Cheers

Neil

Sounds like the CL ECU's confused, as the window thing's meant to happen, but only if you use the key in the door, and hold it in the 'open' or 'close' position as appropriate. As removing the fuses for the front windows hasn't done anything, it's unlikely to be the one-touch function that's gone belly-up as that's reset by removing the relevant fuse (do a search on here if you need to get the one-touch back BTW). I think you may need to reset the central locking, which you may be able to do by removing the fuse for 10 seconds or so and re-inserting it. But I'd recommend checking the manual first, as I wouldn't want you end up locked out permanently! :o
