recommend me an alarm

Featured Replies

Can anybody recommend me a good quality car alarm? seeing as though they dont come standard over here in ireland. I was thinking of a clifford 470 or 650, or a viper alarm.

Any suggestions anybody?

cheers

I had a Clifford Concept (500 I think) on the Scooby and would highly recommend it  The proximity alarm was also good for scaring the cr@p out of people peering in through the tinted windows

Clifford everytime.

They're expensive intially but are extremely reliable and if they do go wrong Clifford will replace any faulty part for free (whilst it's fitted to the car it was 'registered' to) Some of the features are a little OTT; do you need a continual but subtle beeping all the time it's armed or separate air horns in addition to the siren?

The main things is that each system can be set-up for the car it's fitted to and your personal requirements for tone, etc. I've had three so far and the dealers generally know the product inside out, though this is variable as you can imagine.

Thoroughly recommended, if you can afford it.

Have to agree with Clifford. Although I've only ever been had one of their immobiliser fitted just seeing the Clifford sticker and flashing LED is enough to put most undesirables off from approaching the car.
