Light assist?

Featured Replies

Last night, I drove my 2.0 fsi L&K for the first time in the dark. It was great to see the lights come on, illuminating the car park, when I opened the door. The vision with the Xenons was fantastic and again, great to see my house lit when I locked the car, but the offside parking lights stayed on, so I scoured the manual and eventually discovered that the light switch had been pulled out, for fog lights, at least I think that was the problem, as they were extinguisehed when I depressed it. Presumably the vehicle arrive like that, but I am confused.

My new Scout decides for itself to put the headlights on in the dark including the garage when I unlock it. I don't think it's very clever as if your battery was a bit discharged you might not be able to start the engine!:(

I thought you'd already been advised on how to sort this out.

If you leave the indicator stalk on a left or right turn signal position it will leave the respective sidelights on at thge front and back.

If you leave the light swtich pulled out it will leave all 4 corners of the car illuminated, parking lights only do one side.

With the light switch in auto, I didn't think you could select the fog lights. I'm sure I tried once and had to turn the light switch to dips, then pull out for the fogs.

I agree with the above, sounds like the indicator stalk. If you look at the symobols on it you will see a "P".

Thanks, I'll have a look when I go home. I'm amazed at how much I have to learn and play with, compared to my P reg Astra, which is primitive.
