Green Cotton Filter

Featured Replies

I've just purchased one of the above and the first thing I noticed was that the fit is nowhere near as snug as the original. I've read that the fit isnt as good as other filters, but my main question is the possibility that unfiltered air could be getting into the engine???

What do you reckon? Although the fit isnt as good, is it good enough?

As long as there's no gaps you should be fine - the lid would compress the PU around the edge of the filter and create a better seal. Just make sure it's in square and pop the lid on.

Is there any way i'd know if it wasn't on properly?

You just need to be careful how you refit the top of the air box. It will be fine.

i stretched mine a little bit for a better fit , but you are right the fit is terrible , they didn't want to know when i emailed the supplier/manufacturer

As long as it doesn't f$$k anything up then i'm happy

Definately feels a little more revvy

Do you have the intake to go with it?

Oh and as long as you oil it properly and with the proper oil then it will be fine and last longer than the car

That could just be because there's a great big gap down the side of the filter letting in loads of unrestricted air... :P

I wouldn't worry, it'll be fine.

Gah - I was under the impression the green cotten panel filter didn't need oiling?

Yeah, it should be washed and oiled every 5k.

The oil is actually green too

Do a search there are details of the kit on here.

If it doesn't fit you will hear the air hissing in through the side of the filter box.........the K & N filter doesn't fit any better either
