Fixed Furby !

Featured Replies

Just a quick one to thanks to the guys at Audi Dave.

Finally got around to checking what the real problem was with my Furby repeatedly flicking into Limp home mode in differing cirumstances.

Took it into them for a full diagnostics and came back 90 mins later to find it fixed! :)

Rubber hose from turbo had melted through on another hot pipe and was constantly losing pressure - new pipe and a reroute and problem solved, very cheaply.

Furby is now noticeably faster, smoother and more responsive through the gears at all revs too.

thanks guys

Any pics of the area of the engine in question for the benefit of others?

If you have, much appreciated.

I don't, alas, but the actual location isn't photo friendly.

A brief description from a decidedly non mechanical person (me).

Looking from the front of the car, there is a module near the base of the windscreen, to the left hand side as you look. This has 4 rubber pressurised pipes running to/from the turbo and other places (lol) one of these had come to rest against a stainless steel pipe (about 15mm) running to/from the turbo and had melted through it. This has been replaced with one with additional cloth braiding and has been rerouted and clipped in place away from the offending pipe.

Someone who knows what they're talking about will be along shortly. ;)
