Wheel question?

Featured Replies

Right im in a bit of a pickle, I have seen wheels that i really want to fit onto my ltd fabia vrs but im not sure if they will fit! They are 18inch and 8.5inch wide with a 5x112 fitment would these fit with adapters or would i have serious arch issues. Sorry i have not got much of a clue with offsets etc.

I've not heard of anything that would take rims that width (unless standard fit) without extensions or rolled arches.

Can you get suitable tyres to retain the rolling radius (something like 205/30R18 or 205/25R18s)?

Also I'm pretty sure you want 5x100PCD fitment for the Fabia...........

Chris

If Chris is right (I just plain don't know either way), then the 5x112PCD would want adapter spacers, which means you need a minimum 0.5inch (may be 1 inch) more inset to cater for the offset the adapters add to the track.

As far as I know you can't get 'adaptors' to fit 5x112 wheels onto 5x100 hubs (as on your Fabia). You can only get 'wobbly wheel nuts' to adapt a 98pcd to say a 100pcd - not that I would use them.

Also 8.5 J are going to be just toooo wide for a Fabia.

I presume you have asked if the wheels you want come in 5x112, and they don't.

For me; I'd go back to the drawing board and find some 5x100 wheels probably no wider than 7.5J that WILL fit your Furby.

Good luck.

I've no idea either way about the availability of the adapters. I was just pointing out the practical problem of using them if there were such adapters available,

And I agree totally about the wobbly nuts!!

If I was getting wheels again and had a choice in wheel width, I'd go for 7.5" at the front and 8" at the back, purely for looks. Or just 7.5" all round normally. There's more space at the back for wider wheels or a different offset that pushes the wheels out slightly.
