Front Brake Making a Banging / Tapping Noise

Hi, hoping someone can help me with this, I have a Fabia 1.4 TDI which i bought a month ago to replace a 1.4 MPI Fabia. Anyway yesterday i started to get this funny banging/ grinding/ tapping noise, and a first thought S*** :thumbdwn: i hope thats not the turbo. However after a while trying to figure out whatt was making the noise i narrowed it down to something to do with the breaks, as the noise disappears when i press the brake pedal. it sounds worse at bout 10 - 20 mph when slowing down without using brakes, but has also started happening when accelerating as well.

So in order to try and put my mind at rest took it to the skoda dealership who said they'd have a look at it, they spent bout 30 mins checking over the wheels, brakes etc. They came back and said that they think the noise is being made by a lip on the brake disk and that replacing the disks could stop the noise.

Anyway today driving around the noise seems to have got worse :eek: and i can hear the noise at higher speeds bout 40 - 50 mph, im pretty sure it is the brakes as again it seemed to stop when i pressed the brake pedal. Just wondering if anyone else has had anything similar, and whether it sounds like a problem with the disc or am i being fobbed off by the dealer cause they dont know wots wrong.
