Which lowering suits combi 1.9 best?

Featured Replies

Hi.

I was wondering which lowering suits the fabia combi 1.9 tdi best?

I have found 30/30, 35/35, 40/40, 50/30 and coilovers.

I am planning on buying 16" with 205/45 tyres, since i need some comfort, and running on standard wheelsize (14") in the winther.

Can anyone help me out?

I lowered my 1.9 TDI (hatch) with Eibach springs and dampers which dropped it around 40mm. That seemed a nice drop onto the standard 14" wheels and I think would look better with bigger wheels. I had a couple of issues with scraping on some steep entrances so wouldn't want to go much lower....

I have 205/45's on my otherwise standard combi and I've found that the whole from end is much stiffer since the alloys have gone on - that horrible combi trait wallow/opposite lock/wallow in mid-corner has all but disappeared until the bend is attacked 20mph faster.

It does look a bit like an old tart in a mini-skirt with the body being so high, but then I do load mine up quite frequently so I need the full suspension travel available.
