Had a test drive today in a 55 plate Octavia 2.0 TDI Elegance with 34K. To be honest it didn't feel that quick, until you look at the speedo and then you realise it is!! The car moves effortless, the engine is very smooth compared to the 1.9 TDI, and the gearbox is so sleek. Pity the bodywork had a few nasty grazes or I would have purchased it.

How much was it advertised at out of interest?

Yes I got the impression, they would. I pointed out a couple of defects, which they said would rectified, but once I pointed out a few more such as kerbed alloy, interior damage, we decided the car wasn't in all that condition.
