The cleaning of a Fabia VRS seats

Featured Replies

Had a few marks on the white / cream areas of my Vrs seats so went to halfords and got a tin of Car Plan's Stain Valet (brush head on the top) to try and clean them up a bit.

Well it removed the stains but it left a, what can only be described as a wet mark on the seats..........not sure how to remove this but i'll give it a go.

My verdict, great at removing stains but not for use on light coloured seats.

If your not careful you can end up with a dirty ring (water marks) at the edges where you stopped cleaning. Use a wet (and clean) cloth to make sure all the dirt has gone, then dry. I use a vacuum cleaner capable of sucking up water to fully dry it.

Never used Car Plan, I've only used Autoglym interior shampoo.

:D

cheers for the info, i've been trying everything and it's not working.

my seats are starting to get a bit minging!

Glad you posted, I noticed my seats this morning were particularly dirty (even though they've been cleaned with Autoglym). Morisons near me hire out Rug Dr, so I shall give it a go tomorrow

personally i thought autoglym was shockingly ****e! didn't budge any of the muck but the 1001 stuff rocks!!

I did mine last Sunday with 1001 Stain Remover and it took 3 years of grime off in one application. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a product.

My dealer claimed to have supaguarded the seats of my VRS when I bought it but I don't believe it as they mark with every small drop of rain :thumbdwn:

Just in case they have been treated, can I still safely use the 1001 stain cleaner or similar on them without adverse effects?

Probably a bit late for a lot of people

but

I used scotchgard on my seats when the car was new out of the showroom

Three years on, i can still get any dirty marks out of the seats with a cloth and a bit of water.
