Leather Upholstery Marks

Featured Replies

My octavia is the first car i've had with leather upholstery and i am slightly disappointed it already shows creases on the drivers seat after only 6 months.

I am not sure what to expect, and i suppose skoda dont use the highest quality hides.

What are other peoples experiences of leather upholstery?

thanks

richard.

Creasing in leather seats is an inevitability i'm afraid. I bet the creases are on the side bolster near the drivers door aren't they?

Are you using anything to condition/preserve the leather? I use an Autoglym leather preserver to keep it supple and (hopefully) crease free.

Have you ever used any leather feed to keep it supple? Leather needs cleaning and feeding regularly to keep it looking it's best, neglect it and it'll get shabby very quickly. The seat base will 'sag' a little with use but shouldn't crease.

It will do if you dont look after it. Leather needs to be conditioned

Buy some gliptone liquid leather conditioner - tried and tested and loads swear by it.

I have used it for years on various car and it keeps the leather soft and smelling nice.

The crease is where my left leg rests. being a dsg it doesnt get to do much work :D

i have got a bottle of the autoglym product and i have applied it couple of times. How often should i apply it?

richard.

I always thought the autoglym leather conditioner was a poor product.

I would cut my losses and buy some liquid leather

I've always found the autoglym stuff to be pretty good, the zymol stuff isn't too bad either.

I use it once a week.

Think of it like your nice new shoes - don't look the same after you've worn them once. Leather soon creases!!
