Straight lines or circles?

Featured Replies

Just a quick one really, I bought myself some meg scratch x, some 3 stage megs polish and some german aplicators to try and get rid of some of these swirls.

When working the scratch X would i be best doing it in a circular motion or in straight lines?

cheers

I would have though in straght lines, that 3 stage megs polish is damn good ...but I have now got tennis elbow, so go careful, the paint cleaner is the worse one it's a right sod to wipe off..

I have used ScratchX and tbh I find it hard work, and that it takes too much effort for not enough result.

My personal favourite is Autoglym srp, and find for the best swirl removal results, do rub it in small circles as if you are 'bulling' a pair of shoes. It may take longer, but is much more satisfying ( to me anyway, but I am clinically insane )

HTH.

Yeah i have to agree with Mr Grumpy, really can't get on with the megs scratch x and also use srp in small circles like it says on the bottle.

AG SRP did nothing to fill in my swirl marks and scratches. therefore im gonna give scratch x a go

I think the only real way is to use a porter cable to remove swirls and light scratches, this is something im hoping to get done soon.

Definitely do it in small circles and concentrate on one area at a time

Well armed with my order from clean your car.co.uk i think ill try and blitz the car tomorrow.

Gunner give the scratchX a try with german applicator pads and see how we go from there.

Thanks for all the advise. cheers
