Is anyone here running a GT28RS? What power are you making, are you happy with the troque curve? Who did your map?

Lot's of questiosn from a 1.8T newbie

Having played about with these ourselves we have now decided to go the IHI route as the lag on the GT28 was just silly.

Producing same power but not alot more driveable.

Really? That is interesting... What boost were you running with the RS, and power outputs?

Around 1.5 bar I believe and circa 350 bhp which was conservative.

Was Gary running GT25? or GT28

GT28R and GT28RS being bigger animals again..

I believe it was a GT25, also what hes quoted as using on his website.

I know what you mean bill, I.P. have a Golf runing a GT28rs and that is running 1.5 bar at 7000rpm. Turbo spins up at 3500ish, to busy keeping it on the straight and narrow to look at the speedo. :eek:

It's alive and a lot quicker than when you drove it. The revs climb so fast It goes through the limiter in fifth, It can hit the limiter in fifth before it comes out of our underwater race track that's 150+ before it hits daylight.

I thought the GT28RS was really for 400BHP+ applications, its a big mutha of a turbo for low lag spooling, i could get on with a bit of lag for that much power tho
