adding a turbo to a 2.0 FSI?

Featured Replies

1. Can this be done?

2. is it easy?

3. what sort of cost is there?

1. I'm sure it could, however more than a turbo would be required.

2. The 2.0 TFSI isnt just a 2.0 FSI with a turbo bolted on, so a lot of fabrication and internal work would be required.

3. Cheaper to trade car in for a vRS.

! can tell you that a mate of mine supercharged a VW engine with a good quality kit. The kit was £3.5k ish. He fitted it himself. He had to change a number of items and had some parts fabricated. I think the whole cost was about £4.5k once it was all done with remaps applied and everything looking factory fitted at the end.

Trade it in and get a VRS!

Yes, a vRS would be the more sensible route to take.

i want the speed but i know if i have it ill get banned

You can turbo or super charge most engines. A lad at work wants to turbo charge his 2.2 Vectra SRi, apparently there is a kit he can get that will cost him around £4k and will give him a 30% increase in power. I am not a big fan of the Vectra and I fall back on the old chinese proverb of "You can't polish a turd" as 30% on top of the 150 BHP is only 195bhp. And that will be the most he can do without getting really silly and stripping the engine and strengthening everything to run more boost. As I told him he might as well pull the lump out and drop in a 2.0 turbo from an Astra GSi, 195bhp off the cuff and plenty of room to play from there.

Oh yeah I digress get back on point as everyone else has said trade it in for a Vrs. add £400.00 for the remap and WAHEY.
