Interior and boost questions...

Featured Replies

hey all, i just bought a 2000 plate 1.9tdi.. i know its not the most exciting car in the world but also know it has potential.

my first questions are:

will the VRS interior inc doorcards out of an estate fit into a hatchback?

and also, what could cause my car not to boost past 3k rpm..

it boost's fine low down but then just tops out as if the waste gate is opening??

thanks guys and gals!

Hi Dan I dont know about the interior but I have heard that the turbo carbons up or something like that if driven on low revs not using the turbo a lot , where abouts in the country are you? You could try a find someone with vag-com if you dont have it yourself

The boost I would say is the mass airflow sensor (MAF), if it was the turbo vanes sticking the ECU would record an over boost and shut the turbo down, it will stay down until the ignition is turned off and back on.

Door cards possibly, I think that they use the same fixings a part number check would tell you, if it begins 1U9 it will be specific to the estate.

my thoughts on the turbo was maybe someone altered the boost for economy.. either that or the valve that the actuator vacuum pipe connects too could be at fault.

Someone must have tried fitting an estate interior in asaloon.... HELP PLEASE!!

the rear doors are a different shape so I doubt the door cards would swap from an estate to a hatch.

Re. Seats, they will fit but vrs seats dont have side airbags in. there may be problems if you currently have airbagsand fit seats which dont have them.
