Symphony Radio Decode

Featured Replies

I've got a Skoda Fabia 1.9 SDi Classic, with a basic radio/cassette. I want a simple upgrade to play CD's. So I've recently bought a Skoda Symphony radio/cd that I believe was in a Fabia VRs, all I know for certain is that the reg of the car was CE05SVC. It came to me via eBay but without the code. The seller informed me that he had sold the car and so did not have access to the handbooks in which the radio code was recorded. Talking to Skoda GB and several dealers gave the same answer. No code without proof of car ownership (the V5 reg doc). Obviously I cannot do this, and despite explaining the problem, nobody wants to help. The Radio is made by TechniSat in Germany. Again, no help was forthcoming and they said I must go through the Skoda dealer!! Doh! So can anyone help me? Ideally the owner of CE05SVC will see this and dig out his radio book and give me the code! Or does anyone know the car owners whereabouts. The seller of the radio was in Cardiff so chances are its still in the South Wales area. Or does anyone know how to decode a TechniSat 6Y0035156E; Serial SKZAZ9D3702718. Here's a thought - Any helpful soul working in a Skoda dealership could access the code for me - That would be fantastic - Or am I dreaming again??

A radio specialist might be able to decode it for you.

When I did the same I simply called the dealer and gave them the serial number, plus my personal details and my reg no. (which tallied with thier records having been a long term customer) and they gave me a call back a few minutes later with the code FOC.

That won't work for me as I own the radio but not the car it came out of - How does the dealer know that I've not nicked it!! Thanks anyway.

I've tried that route but its proving mighty expensive at the moment - unless someone knows of a good competitive outlet in the Cambs / Beds area. Thanks for your interest

Well that is exactly the situation I was in. Symphony off ebay from another car! In fact I got the code before I'd even committed to buying it by reading the serial number off the ebay photo. That way I knew that I had no problems prior to buying!:D

try these people,sws car audio&accessories.

are the serial numbers of the radios linked to each car?

eg can you not call a dealer giving your own plate and playing dumb saying that unit was in your car upon purchase?
