Nokia Car Kit advice needed Please.

Featured Replies

Your help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have now got a elegance spec, on my old ambeinte i installed my old nokia kit onto the glovebox light feed for power but skoda rerouted it to the fusebox.

My question now is i have a new nokia ck-15w bluetooth display kit that i need to install and the dealer says i can connect it to the stereo. As i have never stipped down my old car dash or this new one before is anyone clued up on how to acheive this as it has climate and i dont want to break anything! plus they want £200+ to fit.

Info req please.

1. How to remove dash to get to stereo

2. Wires to connect to on stereo unit

3. Ignition wire connection for kit to come on/off

Have a look on the below link.

Not quite what you are after, but it explains very well how to remove the stereo.

Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide

It is provided by VRStu who is a member here and will probably be along soon ;)

Have a search around the forum as the answers to your questions have been posted several times before. You'll ideally want to take a switched power supply from the fuse panel.

When you've found the answers pop back here and we'll sort out any questions you still have.

Twonks thanks for the link it made stripping the facia easier but a little advanced for my aftermarket bluetooth kit.

Right had a look for answers but found it difficult to pin down a answer lol.

I looked in the "in car" fuse panel and no pre telephone wiring was available ie fuseway 7 had no outgoing connection only incoming common supply.

I stripped the dash apart this weekend and now have the kit working.

I took a permanent live from the elec sunroof terminal and a switched supply from the fan control terminal within the incar fuseboard.

Both connections are protected by 2 in line fuses.

The only concern i had left was no radio code was in the pack and it described 2 radio options coded and uncoded so i have not touched the stereo yet.

Does anyone know which wire to connect telephone mute onto on a stream mp3?

I will post pics of the install later but it really looks the part imo.

Any extra help would be great.

My octavia website has the pinouts for the Stream MP3 and hence the TeleMute.

You would have needed a Skoda repair wire to insert into the fuse panel to gain power from the fuse panel - Pretty well covered already, so I'm surprised it didn't crop up on your search.

Due to my local dealer being a 4in1 garage getting parts is difficult on sat mornings.

I should of spent more time on your site as i thought being a VRS site the equipment would of been out of my league but the process is the same.

The oem bluetooth guide would of saved me more minutes as it was very clear and detailed but i dipped in and out so quickly so i apologise.

I think my problem has been i always leave jobs to the last minute and sitting pateintly looking through threads i skip ahead to much without reading them.

No matter - You've got it installed and that's what counts.
