TomTom Satnav & My Octy 2 Speedo

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Having just done 600 miles in the last 36 hours from Liverpool to Bournemouth return, (I'm sure the driver just sits there to take the blame if something goes wrong!!!, cos the car did the trip without much input from me  .)

I noticed that when my TomTom said I was doing 70, my Octy said I was doing 75mph. Which would be true?

As an after thought, my 1.9 TDI DSG, with a speedo reading of 1500,

achieved 45 mpg! Is that about right?

Regards all

Ray

Have to say it was the best drive of my life  Well laid back.

yes it would be true your car speedo is set 5-10% above the actual speed limit (but never under).

At one stage, I had trucks overtaking me, I was gutted:eek:

that become less and less as all the uk trucks become restricted to 56mph (most are now being set at 54).
