1.9TDI DSG Estate "MPG"

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

My pride and joy has just completed 1500 miles. I did 600 miles over the weekend, 95% of it was a good boy speeds. I filled the tank at start and filled it on competion. I did 45.5 mpg.

Is that the norm?

Cheers in advance

Ray

Only done about 400 fairly gentle miles. 45 mpg on longish run, 36 mpg round town. I'm told that mpg should improve after about 3,000 miles but it's still considerably better than the 150 bhp fsi manual it replaced.

We did 160 miles yesterday and managed to return 58 - most of that was at a steady 60 on A roads and the car has only done 300 miles in total so far so if it gets even better then

Not a true comparison though as were manual so not sure how much you loose through the DSG

We have two 2.0 TDi DSG cars (one VW Golf and one Octy II) in our household and they both average between 45-50mpg overall, on a trip up to North Yorkshire in the Octy (260miles each way with a long weekend in between the journeys) I got about 52mpg cruising at er, 'progress making' speeds, ;) the VW has 54000 miles and the Octy 20000 miles - all mpg quoted comes from the computer not by calculating brim to brim though

Check with brim to brim calculations. My computer under reads by about 1.5 MPG (so I usually get about 44mpg actual, 140pd manual estate), but others over read.

Hi Guys + Gals,

Any update on your DSG MPG? Im on about 42MPG (Brim to Brim) around town, which I think is good.

I was also wondering if this MPG could be improved on, just using the tip tronic gears?

Thanks in advance,

Ray

42 around town is not to be sniffed at, I retuen low to mid 30's driving around London when the traffic is bad (that'll be all the time then )

I gained an extra 5 mpg once the engine had loosened up after 10k miles.

It might also be worth putting a tank of BP ultimate/V power through the engine once in a while.

Our 1.9 estate is now 3 months old and I've not checked the MPG for a bit. I can tell you however that on it's very first tankfull of fuel it did 550 miles ! I was pretty pleased that.

A couple of hundred miles of that was at 57 though with the cruise on.

get about 47mpg brim to brim (trip says 52 but obviously lies!). 60 mile comute, mainly open A roads, average MPH 48 and average mpg 48
