I tried an Octy VRS. And have some questions...

Featured Replies

Now the only thing I really would like from the ST is the Recaro seats, they were much better than the Vrs.

I have a Recaro 'Style' and am in the process of getting it fitted to my Octy, having previously had it in my Fabia and an Omega before that. Fitting frame/runners is available at £112 + VAT.

I was on the verge of selling it, thinking that the Octy vRS seats are good (which for OEM seats they are) BUT having sat in and directly compared it, the Recaro is so much better. ;)

PS> Isn't the orange/blue scheme of the ST seats a bit garish?

Just get the vRS and be content :)

The two options are:

1) Keep the Fabia, which is cheap to run, hasn't ever felt "too slow" and does everything I need perfectly well, or

2) Trade the Fabia in against an Octy VRS. Which will be a bit more expensive to run (but still perfectly affordable) but a bit more fun.

I've tried a few other things recently and the Octy is the only one that's actually tempted me over the Fabia; all the others hadd weaknesses I couldn't live with.

Go for the Oct'y

Send a pm to woodernspatulars and Ants ask them both to quote you.

I had the same quandary, plus the third option - wait to see what the new Fabia VRS is like in Q2 next year.

In the end I was impressed enough that I traded my Furby VRS for the Oct VRS TD.

I don't regret it.

The new VRS (unless it's available as an estate) won't have a big enough boot. The hatch Octy will.

I won't be in a position to change until November anyways, so I'll ask around then and see what's available and if my best beloved approves and go from there.

Thanks for all the help. :)

You can specify you don't want a Spoiler, but the car will arrive from the manufacturer with a spoiler. Your dealers would then probably take it off, and fill and colour any holes where it may have sat.

All the more reason to get a combi with the understated spoiler :)

D'you reckon I can wheedle a free "upgrade" to a combi? :D

Price difference is about £850 - how good are your negotiating skills?

I'm not sure they're that good. I could take a packet of hobnobs with me though as a sweetener...
