Well...car is in for a service today, and i'm extremely peed off.

Got a call to say i have 3 broken springs on my coilovers !!

Garage says they look like they've been broken for a good while, which is annoying as Jabba only had the car in 2 months ago for a check over, and replaced a bump stop... :(

Anyway...

Looks like a full kit is needed for me. Not that i can afford it ! So any recomendations ?

Oh, meant to say...Mk1 vRS

Did the car look high at one corner when you left it? I'm wondering if the garage is mis-diagnosing dual-rate spring units.

Strangely enough the car looked fine, but the mechanic has been under and they is a definate break in the springs.

He's a good mate too, so i know he wouldn't fob me off.

It's just something i cant really afford at the moment, as i'm about to put 4 new tyres on in the next month...road tax due aswell !

Aaarrrgh.

Which coilovers did you have?

I aint got a clue...they were on the car when i bought it.

The car previously belonged to Joel_vrs from this board, so trying to contact him, and trawling through his old posts to see what i can find out.

It's the 2 fronts that are snapped, and one rear has broken at the bottom.

Beginning to wonder if i should just go buy a spring/strut kit.

No from memory I don't think he bought Octavia vRS specific ones in the first place.

You can get some fairly cheap Jamex coilovers on ebay for around £300.

Or the Weitec's are well recommended and I think are around £4-500.

I think you're right.

Although i'm not fussy about putting coilovers back on, just something nice and low would be nice.

I was looking at Weitec spring kits, but cant find anything for the vRS.

I believe Steevie Wonder had his Octy fitted with Weitec jobbies, drop him a line I'd suggest.

I think he went for the coilovers though...i'm not really wanting to go to the expense of coilovers.

Hi

That would be as Weitec dont list the kit for your car

The springs are 28282001

But that is it just now

We have sold a few of these and have had no issues

Hope that helps

Anymore suggestions folks ?

I'm really stuck and need to get something ordered asap.

Coilovers are going to be far too expensive for me.

So i'm looking for springs/shocks.
